A Quick Note About the TSAHC Most cities do not have all of the readily available resources that Texas provides when it comes to helping residents buy local homes. Arlington and Mansfield residents have a great resource to draw upon and that is the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC). The mission statement of the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation is to, “serves the housing needs of low, very low and extremely low-income Texans and other underserved populations who do not have comparable housing options through conventional financial channels.” Established in 1994, the primary goal of the TSAHC is to provide “a variety of affordable housing programs that range from First-time Homebuyer Programs for individuals and families to assisting in the development of affordable multifamily housing.” As you can see, there are even resources available for homebuyers that may have economic challenges. Buyers should check to find out what eligibility criteria the need to meet to participate in the program.
