Winter Staging May Help Sell Your Home - by Tom Brewer

Winter Staging May Help Sell Your Home We have previously touched on the very popular topic of whether or not Mansfield sellers should spruce up their property with holiday themed decor. For some this is a touchy subject but it just makes sense for homeowners to spend the extra time decorating for the season or just hire someone to do it for them. Sellers shouldn’t go overboard since the holiday season will pass in a couple of weeks but, it could go a long way towards sealing the deal with potential buyers. By decorating with holiday colors, sellers will help buyers envision the home in a whole new light. It will also give the home a little more personality as well as painting a mental picture for how buyers may want to decorate if/when they buy the home. In fact, most sellers may already have extra decorations that they have accumulated over the years. A few simple touches like faux candles in the windows, garland on doorways or arches or a wreath will look nice and be inexpensive. Some sellers may put out cinnamon or evergreen scented potpourri. Some sellers may opt to go all out and put up a Christmas tree but that is up to the individual. Often hiring a professional staging service is easier since they can usually provide decorative items, arrange them and then remove them when they are no longer needed or appropriate. In short, buyers will certainly remember the impression they have when walking into a warm, inviting home that feels like a home rather than a sterile, blank canvas.
