Selling Your Arlington Home During the Summer - by Tom Brewer

Selling Your Arlington Home During the Summer

During the summer months, Arlington really comes alive with a wide array of outdoor activities, lots of warm sunshine and beautiful plants and flowers in full bloom. Many sellers realize that you can bring out the best in your home by selling it between June and August. You may even be able to get a higher price for your home during the summer, provided that you do a bit of prep work.

Even if you have a small yard or limited space, you can really make the most of the home during the summer season by showing it off a bit! Take the time to trim the bushes, put up a nice looking fence or buy some new deck box seating so that you can hide those outdoor items you use during the warm season.

Then, pick up some nice flowers in pretty pots to set around here and there. Paint your patio furniture if it needs it and add some charming lighting to tie the look together when the sun sets. You want the prospective home buyer to view the outside of your home as an extension of the inside, so use your creativity. Outdoor living space is a very hot trend right now.

Enhancing the overall curb appeal of your Arlington home is also important. Be sure that the grass is trimmed along the walkways, paint the front door and set some colorful potted flowers on your entrance-way steps.

Once everything is looking great, have your agent schedule an open house so buyers can get a good look at the property inside and out. Be sure to turn on the ceiling fans and set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. Some sellers go all out on the day of the open house by putting some burgers and hot dogs on the grill, setting out a fresh salad and serving up some refreshing drinks to pass out to visitors.

Summer is a happy time and is exceptionally beautiful in the Arlington real estate market so be sure to enjoy yourself and good luck selling your home!
