Arlington and Mansfield Texas Homeowners Go Solar
Arlington and Mansfield residents are in for a real treat that could potentially save them hundreds of dollars in energy costs. Texas powerhouse TXU Energy will soon be implementing a program through which their customers can have solar panels installed on their homes to help supplement their energy needs.
Similar programs offering alternate energy sources will no doubt continue to pop up around the country as both consumer demand and energy rates continue to rise. The much awaited program will mark the first time homeowners will have affordable, efficient solar panels to use for power.
This means great savings for Arlington and Mansfield homeowners, always a good thing during a challenged economy. According to TXU Energy’s February 24th press release, “The program will include a solar lease option that includes installation, monitoring, repairs and insurance for a low monthly fee. As an example, a 4-kilowatt residential solar system, appropriate for a typical 3-4 bedroom home, would initially cost approximately $35 a month, with no upfront cost. Customers could purchase the same system outright for $26,000, not including rebates or federal tax incentives.”
TXU Energy is stepping up to the plate by offering residents renewable energy choices. The new program is made possible by a forward-thinking partnership forged between TXU Energy and SolarCity, a full-service solar provider for government agencies, businesses and homeowners. Savings for DFW homeowners that participate in this program are expected to increase over time.
