More Females are Becoming Homebuyers
In recent years, some of the fastest growing demographics of new homebuyers included, single buyers, retirees and young adults (20 and 30-somethings). Lately, one of the hottest home buying groups are women. Female homebuyers include singles, single moms, divorcees and retirees.
Female homebuyers are also taking advantage of the government’s first-time homebuyer tax credit program as well as other home buying programs and incentives currently available. This comes as no surprise since the number of females in the country pursuing executive career positions is also on the rise. This allows for more financially mobile buyers in the market seeking homes, which in turn moves more real estate.
Just like their male counterparts, female homebuyers are fulfilling a part of the American dream of homeownership. They are engaging in and thoroughly enjoying all of the benefits of owning a home including the security and pride that go along with purchasing your own real estate property. There are also other advantages to homeowners like the tax benefits and improved credit ratings.
Fannie Mae researchers have estimated that there will be approximately 31 million female homeowners by 2010. In the United States alone that will account for approximately 28% of the total number of households. This consistent increase in female homebuyers is also helping to bolster the economy by adding a much needed resource in the Arlington and Mansfield real estate sector.
