Fort Worth Area Cities Ranks 3rd in the Nation - by Tom Brewer

Fort Worth Area Cities Ranks 3rd in the Nation

The Brookings Institution, a well respected, independent Washington, DC nonprofit research organization, recently released an economic report that ranks the Dallas-Fort Worth area third among the top 100 metropolitan areas in the country that did not suffer from declining home prices. This is a great indicator for the future growth of the Fort Worth real estate market.

Researchers for the Brookings Institution based their findings on the Quarterly House Price Index released by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. According to Steve Brown of the Dallas Morning News, the housing report was comprised of a major study on the economic health of the housing market.

The areas that fared well in the report also showed the least number of employment declines. The overall economic health of the Dallas-Fort Worth area including Arlington, Colleyville, Southlake, Keller and Mansfield have been very strong and continue to be the exception to the rule.

While the report shows that there was some decline in the area from last year, it was only 4%. Texas real estate professionals have been very fortunate to be able to continue to prosper in a very strong market. Researchers anticipate that the area will continue to outperform other major metropolitan areas for years to come.
